Our Story
Founded on February 3, 1988, Cindy Tong’s pizzeria began as a humble establishment with a vision to serve the Owensboro community with only the highest quality of ingredients on “top heavy” pizzas. The original store opened its doors with a focused menu, offering a single pizza size and three sandwich options. This simplicity allowed Cindy to perfect her pizza and lay the foundation for what would become a beloved local institution.
For nearly 36 years Cindy continued to evolve her menu and offerings to meet the diverse tastes and preferences of her valued customers. Cindy had very exacting recipes with exact quantities for all ingredients which made the hand off so much easier!
On October 1, 2023, Eddie & Donna Goodwin along with Eddie’s mom, Faith McKay, became the new owners. Eddie & Donna had known Cindy for over 25 years, were huge fans of the food, and worked in the stores for over a year before becoming owners. Every good accountant will tell you to never open a restaurant, but the Goodwin family has a passion for serving the community that has been their home for so many years and serving great food to so many.
The new ownership truly is a family affair! Three of Eddie and Donna’s children work in the store: Jonathan, Andrew, and Claire. Jonathan, who now manages the west side, was trained for 6 months by Cindy’s niece Jenny Tong. Andrew, who is the assistant manager at the east side, was trained by Cindy, Jenny, and other 54 Pizza managers for over a year. Claire has been making the stromboli bread for the stores since 2022 and is also a team lead. Annika, Jonathan’s wife, is our social media and interior designer. Faith makes the Rice Krispy treats. Annika’s brother, Brent Narhi, is the east side manager. Brent’s daughter makes the chess bars. Family get togethers consist of pizza focused conversations as we strive to continue the serving the Owensboro area with the best pizza.
